An opportunity has arisen for a Manager | Financial Control and Reporting to join A2CO and oversee the internal finance function of the Group.
The selected candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the Group’s internal accounting, billing, credit control, reporting, budgeting and finance operations. This is a hands-on role suited to a motivated and organised finance professional who is comfortable managing both day-to-day finance tasks and wider process improvement initiatives.
Your Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day internal finance operations of the Group and its entities;
- Ensure the proper maintenance of accounting records, reconciliations, invoicing, payments and month-end procedures;
- Oversee billing and credit control processes, ensuring timely invoicing, debtor follow-up and proper reporting;
- Prepare management accounts, financial reports, cash flow forecasts, budgets, variance analysis and other financial information required by management;
- Monitor cash flow, costs, budgets and overall financial performance across the Group;
- Coordinate and assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks and other relevant parties;
- Ensure the timely preparation and submission of VAT returns, tax information and other statutory obligations applicable to the Group;
- Review and improve internal finance processes, controls, reporting tools and filing systems;
- Support the implementation of finance systems, automation initiatives and process improvements;
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure that billing, disbursements, supplier invoices, payments and other finance-related matters are handled efficiently and accurately;
- Assist management with profitability analysis, financial planning and strategic decision-making;
- Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of finance policies, procedures and internal controls;
- Support and guide junior or administrative team members involved in finance-related processes;
- Perform any other finance-related duties that may be required from time to time.
Requirements:
- ACCA qualified in process of becoming ACCA qualified, in possession of a finance degree, or equivalent professional qualification;
- A minimum of 4 to 5 years’ experience in a finance-related role, preferably within a professional services, corporate services, financial services or multi-entity environment;
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, VAT, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls;
- Experience in preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts and financial reports;
- Experience with accounting software and financial reporting tools. Knowledge of Xero will be considered an asset;
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
- Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, management and external stakeholders;
- A hands-on, diligent and self-motivated approach;
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to the wider team;
- Fluency in Maltese and English, both written and verbal.
