An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Manager to join our growing and dynamic Tax Services team at A2CO.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact for a portfolio of local and international clients on tax compliance and certain tax advisory matters;
  • Oversee the delivery of tax compliance for clients, including review and approval of tax computations, returns and refund claims;
  • Keep abreast of all important deadlines ensuring that clients’ deadlines are met;
  • Responsible to handle any updates to the processes and procedures being adopted by the team as may be required;
  • Manage and delegate work effectively to junior team members and oversee its timely completion;
  • Are able to determine the type of documents and information required for a specific task to be completed;
  • Are able to design, implement and adopt specific templates for certain tasks;
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through a deep understanding of client structures, transactions and circumstances;
  • Keep up to date with local and international tax developments and contribute to the firm’s technical knowledge base;
  • Provide ongoing coaching, guidance and training to junior colleagues to support their technical and professional development;
  • Contributes to internal training, technical guidance and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Requirements:

  • ACCA qualified or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a tax environment;
  • Excellent working knowledge of Maltese tax legislation and tax compliance procedures;
  • Ability to apply technical tax knowledge to complex practical scenarios;
  • Knowledge of VAT and/or Transfer Pricing is considered an asset;
  • Strong client relationship management and project management skills;
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in Maltese and English, both written and verbal.
