Associate

We are seeking a capable and driven Associate to join our legal team. This role is suited to a lawyer with 3-4 years of post-qualification experience who is ready to take ownership of defined workstreams, playing a central execution role within legal and regulatory matters, contributing high-quality drafting, structured analysis, and disciplined delivery across a range of projects.

Applicants should demonstrate strong technical ability, sound judgment, and the confidence to manage responsibilities independently while working collaboratively within a broader team.

Preferred experience includes exposure to financial services, corporate services, and iGaming sectors, particularly in regulatory advisory, compliance frameworks, licensing matters, and transactional support within these industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft agreements, memoranda, submissions, and advisory documents
• Manage assigned components of matters within agreed timelines
• Execute defined workstreams under supervision
• Conduct legal analysis and apply sound reasoning to support projects
• Communicate directly with clients on specific aspects of matters, as delegated
• Coordinate day-to-day work and provide guidance where required
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality in all deliverables
• Escalate strategic issues appropriately

Required Experience & Competencies

• 3 to 4 years of relevant legal experience post Masters of Advocacy (University of Malta)
• Fluency in both Maltese and English
• Strong drafting capability with attention to detail
• Clear analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
• Reliability in managing deadlines and deliverables
• Professional and confident communication skills
• Ability to manage defined workstreams with limited supervision
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor junior team members
