Tax Junior

A2CO is currently seeking to recruit a Tax Junior to join our tax team.

At A2CO the selected candidate will work in a driven and client-focused team, servicing a variety of domestic and international clients. On the job training will continuously be provided.

Duties and responsibilities

• Assistance in the preparation of corporate income tax computations and related income tax returns in line with applicable legislation;
• Assistance in the preparation of income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and assistance in the application process for tax residency certificates;
• Assistance in the preparation and filing of tax refund applications, including the preparation of dividend documentation as required by law;
• Assisting in the monitoring of compliance deadlines, budgeting, and planning of tax engagements to ensure timely and efficient delivery;
• Assistance in the preparation of taxation and stamp duty documentation in relation to share transfers;
• Assisting the tax team in tax advisory projects on an ad-hoc basis;
• Liaise with the tax authorities, external advisors, and other stakeholders as required.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate should ideally be currently pursuing an ACCA qualification or a Bachelor of Commerce degree;
• Although not a must, applicants with a minimum one year experience in a tax environment will be given preference;
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail;
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Maltese;
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple deadlines;
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications;
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the tax profession.
