The MLRO is a pivotal role within any licensed entity, primarily responsible for overseeing adherence to the Prevention of Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Regulations (PMLFTR) and other AML/CFT obligations. This role demands a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and an unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of the entity's operations. It is important to note that A2CO does not outsource this role. In line with regulations, the person occupying the role needs to be in employment with the subject person.

The Compliance Officer acts as an extension of the MFSA, ensuring the licensed entity consistently meets the regulatory standards. The Risk Manager is tasked with identifying, analysing, and mitigating risks within the licensed entity. This role is crucial in maintaining a robust risk management framework, ensuring that the entity's risk exposure is managed effectively and in line with regulatory expectations.

Directors hold the responsibility for the entity's overall management and decision-making. They are crucial in ensuring that the entity not only adheres to its internal policies and procedures but also complies with the laws and regulations in force, safeguarding the entity's reputation and operational viability.

The Company Secretary ensures legal compliance, maintaining records of the company's structure, ownership, and board resolutions. This role is essential in upholding the entity's legal and regulatory integrity, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and adherence to corporate governance standards.
